Q: Why do messages from PMT get sent from multiple phone numbers? Can't we just have one phone number sending messages?

A: Unfortunately, we are unable to use a single phone number for outbound messages. SMS messages do not have a built-in way to be tracked by software so we have to rely on multiple numbers (a 'phone pool') to track messages sent from our app. If a user receives a message from workorder a and workorder b, the only way to tell which workorder a user is responding to is by finding the last number they were messaged from. Phone pools are a common way for applications to deal with this problem and are used widely in the communications industry.
